St Mary's School Taylor Bros Fireworks Thank you

A little bit of rain did not dampen our evening, with 4007 people from all over the Bay of Plenty & beyond, turning out to enjoy our 2017 Fireworks Gala. We have had so many reports of families having a great night out, and our children experiencing a world class fireworks display in their own school grounds! Thank you to our wonderful sponsors Taylor Bros Transport, Vegepod, Willis Towers Watson & Zariba Properties – Terrace Views, without your support this event would not have been possible.  Thank you to all our amazing parents, staff and families, who gave up their time to help set up and clean up, volunteered to manage and assist on stalls on the night, and donate fabulous prizes, our event was a huge success because of you all! We were thoroughly entertained by our talented performers & broke records with the huge number of Jar-a-ramas, and had a massively successful ‘Winning Wheel’.  Another highlight was the ‘Wheelbarrow Race’, congratulations to ‘Accident & Healthcare’ our 2017 Champions.  Together we raised almost $25,000, part of this will be spent on exciting outdoor play equipment and playground upgrades for all our children.  What a great evening to showcase our beautiful school, its people and its sense of community.  We are looking forward to 2018! PTA Quiz Night - Thank You

Well the St Mary's 2017 Quiz night has now been and gone. And like any event, it takes a team of people to make it a success.

I would like to thank the following people who helped out with...

-pre-event tasks and organising
-set up on the day
-working on the night
-clean up the day after
-donating your time, expertise, product or service

and for those of you who came on the night and spent lots of money - the event was, as always, an outstanding success!

A special thanks goes to our Corporate Table sponsors:

-O'Connor Warren Insurance Brokers
-Craigs Investment Partners
-Property Managers Group
-Face and Beauty Academy
-Red Security and Electrical Ltd

The winners of the coveted Quiz Night trophy in 1st place (with bought points) went to Statue Bro and the winners of 1st place (without bought points) went to Tour de Farse.

As always, there were some fabulous costumes, but there can only be one Best Dressed winner and that went to the roller skating team, Let's Get Quizzical. I must admit, I think this team were also the most entertaining on the night!

Congratulations to all of the winning teams.

Our Live and Silent Auctions went off with some amazing items up for grab! Thank you to those of you who opened your wallets - we managed to raise approximately $7,000 on our auctions alone!

This year we also changed the format of the night and shortened the actual quiz, which meant everyone had time to have a boogie at the end of the night, which was great to see.

You can see what a fun night it was by checking out our photos on the St Mary's PTA Facebook pages.

As with all of our events, we are more than happy to receive feedback. If you would like to provide us with some feedback, please send it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Once again, thanks for supporting the St Mary's Quiz Night and don't forget to book your table/ticket early next year - you won't want to miss out!

Outdoor Adventure Day Thank You

Once again we have had a fantastic day at our Outdoor Adventure Day.  We are grateful our earlier decision to postpone paid off as we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunny day.  It posed as a wonderful backdrop for our community to come together and be involved in our House event where our children experienced education outside the classroom.  The parent /teacher race proved to be a highlight showing the children adults can have fun too!

We would like to express our sincere thanks to you all.  We appreciated all the fabulous baking which was a sell out before the end of the event, to the volunteers, spectators and of course the staff and children at St Mary’s School.

Special mention goes to Duncan Veitch our Property Manager, Pip Berquist our PTA Teacher Rep, Stephen Finlayson our Sports Coordinator and start line extraordinaire, Randy Piceno, Brian Crowe, Superslides, and Daily Grindz Coffee Cart.

Of course this would not be possible without the help of our Outdoor Adventure Day Team Gabby, Michelle, Tammy, Kelley, Heather, Laura, Monique, Carolyn, Amy, Trudy, Alice, Ana, and Fiona.

We also recognise that some of our longtime team will be leaving us soon and ask if you are keen to join our PTA and help fundraise for our children, please come along to the PTA AGM on Tuesday 11 April at 7pm in the staffroom.

Sincere Thanks and God Bless
